A proud Pittsburgh native, Dr. Tracy Prizant has enjoyed working all of her career in her hometown. An alumnus of Shady Side Academy, she received her B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania in 1988. Returning home, she received her MD from University of Pittsburgh Medical School in 1992, achieving the academic distinction of the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society. She also received the Bernhard Goldmann Prize for Dermatology during her fourth year of medical school. After an Internal Medicine internship at UCLA, she again returned home to complete her Dermatology residency at The University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.
Upon completing her training, she embarked on her career in clinical dermatology, where she would begin to use all the skills of medical, surgical, pediatric, and cosmetic dermatology for which she was trained. In addition to the primarily outpatient based practice, she also has worked as a consultant for hospital inpatients.
After 15 years of working for a group practice, Dr. Tracy Prizant opened Prizant Dermatology, allowing her to tailor her practice even more toward her specialized interests, as well as to better serve her patients and the community needs. She would describe herself as a general dermatologist, and she enjoys building long term relationships with her patients, which includes offering preventative skin cancer screenings on a regular basis, as well as interim visits for acute and subacute issues that may arise. Common conditions that often require regularly scheduled visits would include management of acne, warts, eczema, psoriasis, and many other less common skin disorders. These conditions can exhibit wide ranges of severity and Dr. Prizant can offer individualized care based on patients’ needs and circumstances. We are isotretinoin (formerly known as Accutane) prescribers, and have twenty years of experience prescribing biologic medications as well. Her experience also allows for diagnosis and management of systemic illnesses with cutaneous manifestations such as lupus and other autoimmune diseases as well as endocrine disorders. Additionally, she is well-equipped and skilled as a dermatologic surgeon, removing benign unwanted growths as well as malignant lesions.
The cosmetic component of Prizant Dermatology has expanded over recent years to better serve our patients. Offerings include neurotoxins, dermal fillers and facial revolumization, chemical peels, and microneedling with PRP for skin rejuvenation, as well as PRP injections for hair loss. Dr. Prizant and her staff are always happy to offer evaluations to address wrinkling and volume loss, aging and sun damaged skin, as well as any other particular areas of concern.
Dr. Prizant is married to Dr. Jon Levy, an orthopedic spine surgeon, and they have 3 adult children. They reside in the east end of Pittsburgh. When not in the office, she spends much of her time enjoying the beautiful Pittsburgh neighborhoods, including the parks, the restaurants, the exercise studios, and the shopping, as well as following all of her favorite Pittsburgh sports teams.
